Learn To Box - or Kickbox!

If you've never boxed before, then it can be difficult to know where to start...

It can also be really daunting walking into a boxing gym for the first time!

However, at A.R.D. Training Camp we pride ourselves on our sense of community and the care we have for all of our members; so our gym is a great place to begin your journey into the world of combat sports.

Why Take Up Boxing/Kickboxing?

There are lots of reasons people choose to take up boxing or kickboxing...

Reasons can be as simple as wanting to improve upon your general fitness, but doing so in a more exciting and interesting way than you would do in your usual, commercial gym.

Regardless of your goals, whatever you want to achieve, and whatever your age, you'll find a friendly and supportive atmosphere within the four walls of A.R.D.

Types of Training

We have a number of classes on throughout the week, as well as opportunities to get booked in for 1-to-1 sessions with one of our coaches.

Events

Many of our new; novice boxers really enjoy training for some of the events that we put on each year, one of these events, is the quarterly A.R.D. Inter-clubs.

These are essentially exhibition bouts for our boxers and members to take part in, that act as a dress rehearsal for any of our guys and girls that wish to box outside of the club; at boxing shows.

However, these inter-club bouts can also be used for people who may have the goal of taking part in a boxing contest on their "bucket list" and to fulfil a life long ambition of experiencing what it's like to box in front of a crowd!

In anticipation of inter-clubs and other shows, we hold 'Sparring Workshops', which are specifically designed for those intending to complete at interclubs or future open shows and tournaments.

They act as a great opportunity for all new boxers, as they get the chance to train with Andre - a former World Kickboxing Champion - and develop a lot of fundamental skills than a lot of other novices may lack.

These are taught in a very safe manner to help the Novice/Intermediate Level Boxer become more confident and aware, so that they feel a lot more physically and mentally prepared for their contests in the future.
